BENETTI SHINES AT THE MONACO YACHT SHOW 2018

At the Monaco Yacht Show Benetti shared more details about the BNow family product’s concept, right after the announcement, made at the Cannes Yachting Festival, of the first BNow – a model under 500 GT – sale. The BNow is a revolutionary family of full custom displacement yachts designed by RWD and characterized by short delivery times and casual, contemporary interiors.

After the tremendous feedback and interest whipped up at the Cannes Boat Show, it has been Monaco’s turn: at the prestigious superyacht show Benetti introduced the audience to the other BNow models, created by RWD studio and marked by an extreme customization of the onboard spaces.

The Monaco’s Yacht Show was also the perfect occasion to introduced the public to M/Y “Seven” for the first time. The 50-metre Full Custom yacht has a fiberglass hull and aluminum superstructure. Exhibited alongside her is M/Y “St David”, a fully custom superyacht of 60-metres.

BNow concept is composed of four different models of varying sizes, ranging from 50-metre, to 55, 63 and 68-metres. The BNow yachts all feature a highly customizable layout and external lines defined by renovated geometries, to meet all the precise and unique desires of each of their owners. They share a unique family feeling, recognizable by fluid and elegant lines that defines the hulls. A symphony of dynamic lines connects the decks, whose distinctive, elongated windows act as unifying elements, creating a harmonious ensemble. The outdoor-indoor living area has been developed with a seamless continuity of internal and external spaces, in response to the market evolution that calls for new solutions to a request from a very specific kind of owner, a particular client who loves a contemporary atmosphere, without compromising on comfort and privacy.

The philosophy behind this displacement yachts family is a new idea of luxury, based on the will to respond to every client’s requests, offering the owner a unique object, unlike every other yacht that can be found the market, that perfectly matches all his/her desires to the last small details. Not to mention the shorter delivery time. With the help of Benetti’s advanced construction technology, all BNow models will be built in less than the standard time recognized by the market. New techniques, developed by Benetti over the years, allows in fact the shipyard to speed up the engineering process. Giovanni Bizzarri, Head of Azimut|Benetti Group R&D, explained how: “Through computer softwasimulation we managed to avoid the test tank process, that can usually take up to 6 months. This new technology gives us the opportunity to optimize the process and we can now predict everything from the fins behaviour, to the shaft lines. We have immediate data on the sea keeping prediction and even on how the exhaust gas flow will interact with the hull. On top of that we are able to predict now how the yacht will react in 2/3 years time, and this is a unique and incredible advantage when it comes to the designing and building phase”.

Adrian Chisnell, RWD project manager for all the Benetti project, and Jack Canning, RWD’s Head of Interior Design, went on in giving more detailed insight on the models layout, with a focus on the BNow 63 and 68 meters. The two yachts are characterized by the same

main features that runs through the BNow family, with a particular emphasis on the will to break from the traditional design to find new paradigm, drawing inspiration from other forms of design, such as automotive or civil architecture. On the external decks, for example, the loose furniture gives quite a residential feeling rather than traditional ‘boat style’.

The designer also developed a fluid layout: with few movements – a disappearing television, a fire pit that transforms into a coffee table, a back bar that rotates revealing glasses and beverages – the whole feeling of space can change. The similitude between the yachts continue: both the 63 and 68-meters model offer the owner a quiet and secluded space: owner apartments are welcoming large spaces complete with a studio and a beautiful fireplace (a feature typically unheard of on a boat of this sizes) that turns the Master into a really intimate lounge area. Among the BNow signature elements has to be mentioned the aft swimming pool, the jacuzzi on the Sun Deck and the transom terrace.

The recent sale of the first BNow unit is just the latest triumph in a year of great progress and commercial success for the Azimut | Benetti Group as a whole. The Group estimates that its value of production for 2018 will be €850 million, which is an 18% rise on the production value of 723 million euros reported for 2017.
